The painting “Area III” from 1968 represents one of the early stages of Ryszard Winiarski’s work, made using acrylic technique on a 100×100 cm board. The composition is based on modules of different sizes and positions of zones with a random structure, determined by a random variable: dice, table of random numbers, and coin toss. The work currently has museum and gallery labels and has been exhibited in several shows, including Musee Galliera in Paris, Contemporary Gallery in Warsaw, and Galleria Schwarz in Milan. It features a harmonious combination of geometric aesthetics and mathematical precision.

The artwork is a visual dialogue based on statistical and random patterns; the search for balance between chance and order. Winiarski creates a visual space that engages the viewer to participate in the play of perception and analysis.
Interpret as an example of constructivist art with a strong emphasis on logic, science, and the renunciation of personal expression in favor of precise, controlled structure.
